The Numash Project

Updated: Jan 9

The Numash project is an in-depth, verse-by-verse commentary starting with the Gospel of Matthew, restoring the Hebraic thought of the authors. This scholarly endeavor aims to explore the linguistic, theological, and cultural dimensions of the gospels, offering insights that align with Orthodox Jewish perspectives, particularly through the lens of Torah observance and rabbinic texts.

The commentary integrates a wide array of sources, including the Talmud, Midrash, Zohar, and Chassidic teachings, to provide a comprehensive analysis of each verse. The linguistic approach examines the Greek text of the Gospels alongside their equivalent Hebraic terms and concept conterparts, identifying translation issues and offering alternative interpretations that stay true to the text and Hebraic view while avoiding the Greek philosophical injections that many translations are rooted in.
